Every year, millions of pounds of electronics are discarded, ending up in landfills where toxic materials can harm our soil, water, and communities. At the same time, too many people with autism, developmental disabilities, and other barriers to employment are left out of the workforce, even though they have the talent, focus, and dedication employers need.

Blue Star Recyclers was built to change both of those realities.

As a mission-driven social enterprise, we recycle and refurbish electronics responsibly while creating meaningful, paid jobs for people who are too often overlooked. Every device we process keeps toxic waste out of the environment. Every job we create helps build confidence, independence, purpose, and long-term opportunity.

Since 2009, Blue Star has recycled more than 39 million pounds of electronics, created stable employment for people with disabilities, and helped other communities across the country learn how to do the same. Our work proves that environmental sustainability and economic inclusion are not separate goals, they are deeply connected.
